Scenario type 1

This scenario is the one that we are heading toward at the moment based on our actual level of technology and consciousness. In this scenario, humanity would not be able to let go of the failing system based on competition for unlimited growth, nor to find the needed revolutionary technologies permitting us to avoid a global collapse. Global warming, the destruction of our ecosystems, the overconsumption of our resources would create huge issues of scarcities which in turn would generate social unrest, migrations while increasing problems of scarcity and conflicts between countries for the control of the resources. Earth would increasingly become a zone of suffering, war, while our society and systems gradually would collapse. As a result of the destruction of our environment and the uses of weapons of mass destruction during the conflicts, a consequent part of the human population disappears out of starvation, violent death and illnesses. Earth would end up largely devastated, and in some parts damaged to irreversible levels due to the use of weapons of mass destruction during the many conflicts. Humanity would have lost control of its destiny and fall back in a world of chaos and destruction, entering what we could call a new dark age.

This scenario which includes a complete loss of control of our humanity is completely unpredictable and extremely dangerous as it implies a return of our most primitive and destructive animal instincts for survival, leading potentially to the extinct of our species due to the destruction of the condition permitting life on earth.
