Futurism

“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” – Abraham Lincoln

The ability to predict our future, knowing that there is an infinite amount of variants ahead of us from the most catastrophic to the most enviable, is not only useful to anticipate potential issues, but to position ourselves to create the most favorable outcome for all of us.

As far as we can see, we have an infinite amount of potential future ahead of us. And it is the choices we make and actions we take individually and collectively that ultimately will create humanity’s fate. In order to have a clearer picture of what our future may look like, we will be exploring three different types of potential futures that could be materialized depending on our choices.

These 3 potential scenarios are examples among the infinity of potential futures ahead of us. Projecting ourselves in the future shows us not only that change is ultimately unavoidable, but that we can influence how this change can happen. In other words, we can work on what type of future we would like to materialize and on what we could do individually and collectively in order to do so.

Scenario type 1:
The new dark age – Homo Apocalypticus

The financial debts, growing inequalities and destruction of our ecosystem could trigger a global collapse of civilization resulting in a sharp decrease of our quality of life together with migration, famines, war and epidemics. The resulting chaos and destruction could ultimately lead to the disappearance of our species on our planet.

Scenario type 2:
The age of technological domination – Homo Roboticus

A potential technological revolution could permit us to avoid or limit the impact of a global collapse. But in a context in which inequalities prevail and the power is in the hand of a minority, this progress would likely be used in priority by the elite in place, not to help humanity but to reinforce their domination and control over the global population.

Scenario type 3:
The age of consciousness – Homo Conscious

Getting to know ourselves better would naturally change our way of thinking and in turn our cultures and society for the benefits of all live on this planet. This is what a r-evolution of consciousness is all about, a self-aware humanity, connected to itself and its environment could lead the way toward a better world and a better future for all of us.
